Site news

I have been expiramenting with a new template creator for the site. The new template is very much like the old one but it should look smoother and more refined.

It's also supposed to be completely responsive to the device the site is being viewed on but I don't think it's 100% yet.

Retrocom.org was created by Colin Barnes in February 2008.

It is hosted on UK2.net servers and UK2.net are also the registration agent.

The latest version of the site users Joomla 3

I've just set up SobiPro and created a database for computer specifications. I'm sure that I'll create other databases for other things too.

I'll be populating it with some entries over the next while and expanding on these as I research more.

If you want to contribute please post suggestions in the forum.

I have just installed a social media bar on the website. You can check out our Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Youtube pages by clicking on the sliders at the top right of the page.

RetroCom is the website for computers from the 1980's era (although we may encroach into the 1970's or early 1990's).

Here you can find articles and pictures relating to the computers that shaped the home computing revolution. But hey, we don't just do computers, there's stuff on software, magazines & peripherals as well!

If you have some information or pictures about these pieces of history please feel free to email them to me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and I will try to put them on the site (with due credit to you of course).

If you have any old hardware, software, manuals, books or magazines that you would like to donate then drop me an email and I'll try to arrange collection (if you're in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland) or postage.

Thanks for visiting us.

Colin
