The NC 100 was easy to use and featured a number of built in apps.

  • ProText word processor
  • Calculator
  • Diary
  • Clock
  • Address book

The apps were accessed by pressing the yellow "Function" key and the relevant coloured key.  The function + key combination was also used to access other features:

  • Function + N - Start a new document;
  • Function + L - List stored documents;
  • Function + P - Print a document;
  • Function + D - Go straight to address book;
  • Function + C - Go straight to calendar;
  • Function + T - Go straight to time manager;
  • Function + A - Set alarm;
  • Function + Z - Set time zone;
  • Function + X - Run memory card program;
  • Function + S - Serial terminal;
  • Function + B - BBC BASIC;
  • Function + 1 - Spellchecker (when in word processor mode);
  • Function + Sercret / Menu - Access the secret area.
